Sir WILLIAM DOBELL (OBE) (1899 - 1970)

Sir William Dobell (1899-1970) was an iconic and award-winning Australian artist. He was the winner of the Archibald Prize with his controversial portrait of Joshua Smith, and twice the winner of the Wynne Prize. He is one of Australia's greatest and highly collected artists, whose work is represented in all major National Art Galleries and private institutions.
