CRAIG GOUGH (1938 - )

Craig Gough is a respected Australian artist.He has achieved a high degree of success with exhibitions and teaching at the Claremont School of Fine Art, writing art criticism for The Sunday Times newspaper, being a member of the Festival of Perth Art Committee and President of the Contemporary Art Society (W.A. Branch). He moved to Melbourne to take up a Lectureship in Painting at Caulfield Institute of Technology (now Monash University) in 1974. He was appointed Head of Department in Fine Art and Senior Lecturer in Painting before leaving in 1994 to paint full time. He has won many awards and art prizes including the John McCaughey Memorial Art Prize, a painted tram, and a studio residency at 'il Paretaio', the Arthur Boyd Studio in Tuscany, Italy. His works are in major public galleries, corporate, institutional and private collections in Australia and overseas.
