GISELLE ANTMANN (1946 - 2016)
Giselle Tora Antmann was an Australian-based German Modernist. Giselle's parents, members of the Polish Resistance during WWII, fled to Australia in 1955 where she was raised in Sydney. She established herself as a respected painter and sculptor, exhibiting in London, the Art Gallery Of NSW and the National Gallery, Canberra, where she is represented in their permanent collection. This work is reminiscent of her contemporary, Sidney Nolan.
