JOYCE EMILY BALTIS (1916 - 2005)

Joyce Baltis was a 20th century, prize-winning Australian artist, journalist & illustrator. Her work has appeared in several significant Australian magazines and publications, including 'The Bulletin". In the late 1960s she was commissioned to travel through Polynesia, documenting the lifestyle for The Australian's Women's Weekly. Whilst on this tour, she complete numerous beautiful paintings of the native inhabitants and landscapes.
