Allen David was an accomplished Indian modernist. Born and educated in Bombay, he was instrumental in introducing Australia to abstract expressionism, with a distinctly Indian style, popularized by his Indian contemporaries V.S. Gaitonde, Shanti Dave, F.N. Souza, S.H. Raza and M.F. Husain. He found major success in London, New York & Tel Aviv.
