Kenneth William David Jack AM MBE RWS was an Australian watercolour artist who specialised in painting the images of an almost forgotten outback
 life; old mine workings, abandoned ghost towns, decaying farm buildings. In 1977 he was elected to The Royal Watercolour Society and in 1982 was awarded the MBE, and the Order of Australia (AM) followed in 1987. This artwork  is a RARE seminal, iconic, stunning, huge oil painting of Lake Frome in Chambers Gorge, South Australia, painted in 1970. The work is one of Jack's largest and most seminal pieces, painted for entry into the 1970 Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery Of NSW, where it was selected as a finalist. It represents the greatest work from the artist, painted in one of his most treasured and recurring locations, the Flinders Ranges in South Australia. The work was then acquired by the renown Travelogue Collection, where it toured Australia, until being sold through Artarmon Galleries to a significant private collection.
