GLADSTONE EYRE (1863 - 1933)
Gladstone Eyre was a prominent Australian Colonial painter. He studied art in both Melbourne & Sydney, and became a member of the Art Society of NSW in 1883. He became well known for his portraits of important figures and exhibited at the Centennial International Exhibition, Tasmanian Juvenile Industrial Exhibition and Royal Art Society. He was also known for his impressive vistas of Sydney Harbour, like this watercolour.
