ALBERT HENRY FULLWOOD (1863 - 1930)

Albert Henry Fullwood was a respected Australian Impressionist & War Artist. British-born Fullwood studied art at the Birmingham School of Landscape Art before emigrating to Sydney in 1883, joining the Art Society of NSW, and was adopted by the famous Heidelberg School of Australian Impressionists at Little Sirius Cove, including Tom Roberts, Arthur Streeton and Charles Conder. A foundation member of the Society Of Artists in Sydney, he returned to Europe around 1900, exhibiting to great acclaim in New York, and the Royal Academy in London. Later, he was stationed with the AIF on the Western Front in France & Belgium in WWI covering all the major Australian battlefields alongside contemporaries Arthur Streeton and George Washington Lambert.
