JOAN DENT (1916 - 2002)

Joan Dent was a respected Australian abstract artist and illustrator. She was a regular finalist in all National Prizes, including the Wynne & Archibald. This is a sensational, dramatic abstract oil painting, at the pinnacle of female abstract expressionism in Australia. This work was inspired by the likes of Clyfford Styll, Lee Krasner, Franz Kline and Joan Mitchell.
