ANSEL ADAMS (1902 - 1984)

Ansel Adams is a famous American photographer, widely regarded as the 20th Century's greatest landscape photographer. Adams was best known for his important black and white photos of what was or appeared to be the country’s remaining fragments of untouched wilderness, especially in national parks and other protected areas of the American West. A San Francisco native, the portrayal of Yosemite National Park is synonymous with Adams' photography. He was also a vigorous and outspoken leader of the conservation movement. These posthumous, vintage silver gelatin photographs were produced by the Ansel Adams' Gallery from their stunning Yosemite Special Edition Series.
