EDWIN SALOMAN (1935 - 2014)
Edwin Saloman was an acclaimed Israeli painter. Born in Romania, he trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cluj. His work focuses on the animal kingdom juxtaposed with human characteristics. Animals are personified, allowing him to incorporate social and political issues. The animals of the Middle East are a central theme. Salomon's paintings appear in numerous private collections in Israel, the U.S.A., Canada, Uruguay, Brazil, Romania, Sweden, Hungary, as well as in public collections such as the National Museum of Bucharest, the Cluj Museum and the President's Residence in Jerusalem.
