ALEXANDER MUIR (1924 - 1991)

Alexander Muir was a respected, yet reclusive Australian abstract artist. Muir was influenced by the colour theories of Bauhaus artist's Piet Mondrian, Paul Klee and Robert Delaunay, and also Roy De Maistre. His pastel works are unique organic experiments of colour and geometric synthesis. He exhibited few, but successfully in Sydney, especially at Holdsworth Galleries.
