BRETT-LIVINGSTONE STRONG (1953 - )

Brett-Livingstone Strong is an Internationally renown Australian artist. He holds the record for the highest price for a portrait ever sold by a living artist with his official portrait of Michael Jackson (the only portrait he authorised and sat for), sold to Japan in 1992 for $US2.5million. 'Creation' (1972) was completed by Strong when he was just 18, and it was exhibited at the Sydney Opera House through Sebert Galleries. This was one of a series of 7 works viewed by Queen Elizabeth II, and from these works, Strong was personally selected by the Queen and commissioned to design the invitations for the Opening of the Sydney Opera House in 1973. The same year he exhibited with British Modernist, Sir Henry Moore at the Art Gallery Of NSW, then relocated to the USA where he was known for his sculptures and paintings of Hollywood celebrities and International musicians, including John Lennon, John Wayne and Fleetwood Mac. He was also close friends with Michael Jackson & Andy Warhol (who unveiled his Lennon statue).
