ROMEK ARPAD (1883 - 1960)

Arpad Romek was a well respected Hungarian artist, based in Budapest. He studied at the Budapest Academy of Fine Arts. His masters were Ede Balló and László Hegedűs. Between 1906 and 1908, he won the Baron Kohner's scholarship formed in Szolnok. In 1917 he won the Fészek Prize and in 1922 received the Prize of the Műcsarnok. He regularly appeared in domestic group exhibitions, with contemporary Hungarian masters. His works can be found in the Hungarian National Gallery, Bombay, Transwal, Belfast, Glasgow, the British Museum at the Royal Dutch Museum.
